Founded in November 2005,CMay Animation Production Co., Ltd. is a state-owned cultural asset management company jointly built by Chongqing Broadcasting Group and Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts for the purpose of promoting the development of the animation and cartoon industry in Chongqing. The company is dedicated to developing proprietary Chinese animation and cartoon products and building a creative industrial chain for national culture.

CMay has been authorized to be a “national animation industrial base” and a “national base for animation teaching and research”. The CMay Animation Technology School, formerly the CMay Animation Training Center, is the No.1 brand in the animation, cartoon and software education and training in Chongqing. Jointly founded by CMay Animation Production Co., Ltd. and the Film & TV Animation College of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, the school is aimed at cultivating advanced talents in animation and cartoon design and production so as to supplement talents for the animation, cartoon and game software industry.

The purpose of setting this production-learning-research base in the campus is to make use of the multiple resources and provide a sounder learning environment for the students. Before the students participate in a commercial project, the school will put in a lot of simulation training programs to sharpen their technical skills. Thus the students can gradually master modern means of creation with the training and guidance of professional animators. During their study in the center, students will experience the sound artistic atmosphere of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, expose themselves to the thick cultural sediments of the Academy, and integrate what they’ve learned with their practices.
